  • Clean the lead reel of all foreign material.
  • Insert the master bar (back edge first) onto the reel rod and press the front edge under the two reel rod clips.
  • Inch the cylinder round and repeat the operation with the trailing reel rod.
  • Inch the cylinder round to the leading reel rod to present it in the position to mount the blanket.
  • Rotate the leading reel rod to position the master bar parallel to the platform.
  • Insert the packing sheets over the lead cylinder bevel and insert the lead slave bar of the blanket (and under blanket if fitted) into the master bar.
  • Rotate the master bar on the reel rod through approximately 90 degrees into the cylinder to positively locate the slave bar onto the master bar.
    • Note: when installing the 800 series master bars due to the wide cylinder width, copper safety clips should be fitted initially and removed when installation is completed.
  • Inch the cylinder round to present the trailing reel rod and master bar.
  • Rotate the reel rod to position the trailing master bar vertically to the platform (pointing downwards) and insert the trail slave bar into the master bar.
  • Rotate the reel rod to tighten the blanket (and underblanket if fitted) employing the minimum amount of tension necessary to achieve optimum print quality.
